“One of my best interactions with him was our last practice my sophomore football season. We ended up talking on the football field for 25 minutes after practice. Just talking about life, talking about relationships, football. I really had no idea what I wanted to do with my career, with my education, and he just helped me navigate, different options and helped layout kind of a roadmap for me. He never pressured me to do anything or study anything and really just wanted me to succeed.” – Dylan Wheeler, SJU senior

“Boz impacted me in the best way possible. I only knew him for about a year, but he shaped me into the person I am today. He taught me how to be a leader, both in the classroom and on the court. Boz wanted everyone to stand up and be someone others can look up to, when, in reality, he was the one everyone looked up to. He supported and believed in all his students. Boz really brought out the best in everyone and saw every student’s true potential. I felt his presence at every game, cheering me on!” – Brooke Andries, CSB senior

“He was different than any other professor I had because I would leave for a track meet or I’d have a track meet coming up and most professors would say good luck or wouldn’t care too much about how I was doing, but I feel like every time I brought up a track meet when I was in Boz’s class he would ask me what event I was running and ask me how the season was going and how the team’s looking. He definitely cared about sports and was invested in what was going on in my life beyond the classroom.” – Joe Gathje, SJU ‘25

“Boz had such a large impact on me as both a student and an athlete. He never failed to ask how my track meets were going and always showed genuine excitement for our team/season. I’ll never forget seeing him at our meets, cheering us on with the same enthusiasm he brought to his teaching. His encouragement on the track made me feel seen and valued beyond academics and showed just how deeply he cared for his students outside the classroom. He showed up for others wholeheartedly, and I will forever be grateful for the way he showed up for me.” – Samantha Solheid, CSB junior
